Tar balls washed up on Colva coast during today’s beach clean – up drive. The government had organized the mega clean-up drive to ensure “clean and safe” beaches for tourist visiting the state. However, midway through, tar balls washed up on Colva’s beach – a reminder of the greater issues that plague the golden coast.

The menace of tar balls has once again returned to sully Goa’s beaches. Minister’s, MLAs and students descended on Goa’s beaches for the clean-up drive. However, in Colva, participants were seeing a completely different reality. Sanvordem MLA, Ganesh Gaonkar, was among the many politicians present at Colva. He was asked to comment on the tar-ball situation. Listen.
