Construction work disrupts business for Ponda Market vendors

Vendors at Ponda Municipal Market are facing a new set of issues with doing business after the entrance to their market space has been blockaded due to ongoing construction work. Customers are unable to enter the market, and vendors are losing out on their daily sales, prompting angry vendors to take the issue up with PMC Chairperson and Chief Officer demanding immediate resolution.

Roadside vendors are the ones benefitting from the blocked entrance, as customers are diverted from the main market. The market vendors complained that the way to the vegetable market has been blocked due to ongoing construction opposite the entrance touching the road.

Angry vendors gheraoed the PMC Chairperson and Chief Officer and demanded that they clear both the blocked entrance and roadside vendors immediately. The Chief Officer has assured that their issues will be resolved by Friday.
