52 Baina structures get demolition notices from GCZMA

Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority has issued notices to 52 structures along the Baina Beach. The recipients of the notices, who are mainly fishermen, say they have been living in these houses for the past several years.

GCZMA has served notices to 52 structures along the Baina Beach while requesting the owners to be present for a personal hearing on Friday afternoon with valid documents showing the ownership of the structures, mostly belonging to traditional fishermen. Fishermen claimed that for the last several decades, they had been living in these houses and that their parents would also lived there.
