Volvoi Panchayat sans Sarpanch may get its new Sarpanch soon

Yes, the deputy sarpanch has confirmed that there is no problem within the elected panchayat members and he is ready to support the lady panch for the post of Sarpanch provided she approaches him and other panchas for support.

The elections for Sarpanchas and Deputy Sarpanchas for the 175 panchayats were held on Monday.

Most villages got their new sarpanchas elected unanimously or after election.

But the 5 member panchayat of tiny village of Volvoi in Ponda remained without election of Sarpanch as the post was reserved for ladies and other 3 panchas including 1 affiliated to BJP and 2 independents had decided to not support the 2 ladies who are apparently affiliated to the MGP.

However now the panchas have denied this.

MGP Minister Sudin Dhavalikar has also said that if the panch members do not come to a consensus, he will ask the Chief Minister to intervene.
